National Mall’s Housing Showcase Will Include Hemp Building Material

The new building showcase in the National Mall has included a new product that is slowly gaining popularity, hemp. Hemp building materials such as hempcrete, hemp blocks, and hemp-based insulation are being showcased at the National Mall in Washington D.C. as part of an annual innovative Housing Showcase.

The showcase takes place at the mall June 9th through the 11th. This showcase is part of an annual tradition of showing new materials and innovative technologies in the housing market. One of the exhibitions present will be the US Hemp Building Association (USHBA). President of the USHBA, Ray Kaderli noted that hemp has been increasing in popularity over the last 30 years in Europe.

“Hemp building materials displayed on the national mall will turbocharge education and answer questions on this remarkable building solution. This showcase will move the industry forward.” Said Kaderli in a statement.

The USHBA has also announced a new partnership with Mandi Kerr of the Global Hemp Association to make relationships with congressional staffers during the National Mall’s showcase.

“Global Hemp Association has provided advocacy and leadership for the genetics and farming of industrial hemp to build our agricultural supplies… USHBA provides advocacy for the raw materials made into building materials. The whole supply chain is represented.” Said Kaderli in another statement.
